CJESS uses a double blind peer review process. The manuscript will be read by the Editorial Board for an initial assessment of its suitability for publication then be directed to two external reviewers for blind peer refereeing. The Editor's decision is final.

  1. Reviewers are asked to evaluate a manuscript whether it:
  • is original
  • makes a theoretical contribution to the study of language acquisition and literary studies
  • is methodologically sound
  • follows appropriate ethical guidelines
  • clearly presents results and supports the conclusions
  • cites relevant previous work accurately
  1. Review outcomes include the following:
  • acceptance as is or with minor corrections
  • resubmit the manuscript with revisions for a new round of reviews
  • rejection of the manuscript (The results of the review, i.e. comments, suggestions and recommendations of the referees, will be emailed to the authors)
  1. The review process may take approximately 6-8 weeks.
  2. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make editing changes (that do not affect the content) to any manuscript accepted for publication to enhance clarity and style.
