Ethical Guidelines
Responsibilities of Editor
- The editor holds responsibility for making decisions on content of the manuscripts submitted to the journal
- The editor will not consider the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy in the process for the selection of papers.
- The sole criteria for the selection of the text will include:
- the submission’s relevance to the field of study and to the scope of the journal
- the submission's originality
- the quality of the submission's language
- the clarity of the argument - The editor will take all possible steps to ensure that papers published in the journal follow the ethical code of practice laid out in this statement.
- The editor and the editorial board will ensure the integrity of the publication review process by not revealing either the identity of authors of manuscripts to the reviewers, or the identity of reviewers to authors.
- The editor and the editorial board will receive all manuscripts for review in confidence and will not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, other external referees sought from time to time and the publisher.
- The editor and the editorial board will not use materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript (published or unpublished) for their own research without the author's written authorization.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Reviewers’ will complete their reviews within the timeframe agreed at the time of accepting the request to review.
- Reviewers will keep all information regarding papers confidential and treat them as privileged information.
- Reviewers will provide authors with relevant information allowing them to revise their papers to meet the highest standards of academic quality.
- Reviewers will express their views clearly and unambiguously.
- Reviewers will conduct their business of review objectively, with no personal criticism of the author.
Responsibilities of Authors
- All manuscripts must be the original work of authors and not plagiarism.
- All named authors must have contributed to the writing of the paper.
- Authors will offer honest and precise descriptions of their research procedures.
- Authors will provide full and honest list of references, crediting all other researchers and other authors whose work has made the submission possible.
- Authors will offer an impartial, methodologically sound, discussion of the data.
- Authors will not submit papers considered for review in CJESS elsewhere.
- All manuscripts must be previously unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Authors will report any fundamental errors or inaccuracies that could not have been verified by referees or editors to the editors, requesting an erratum.
